Pat and Becky
An Engagement Session
May 9, 2009
_______________

Ever have one of those days when you've realized that you're so absolutely lucky and blessed to be doing what you love for a living? I seem to be experiencing days like these quite often lately, and yesterday was no exception. Not only did I feel lucky and blessed, I also realized what amazing clients I have.

Pat and Becky seem like people I have known for such a long time. I immediately felt comfortable with them when we started our photo session yesterday, and truly had a most amazing time working with them - I actually don't feel as though the word "work" truly applies when talking about these two fantastic people.

Pat and Becky have this amazing chemistry between them, which made the photo taking process a dream to experience. I am so incredibly excited to be working with them, and cannot wait until their wedding this July.

Thanks so much again for the fantastic day yesterday you two - and for the really yummy hot dog!! :)

Goodbye, My Little Miu...
___________________________

Today has been one of the worst days I will likely ever remember. I had to send my kitten in to the vet to get checked out, as he has been vomiting for more than a week straight. They have declared that he has what's known to be megaesophagus, which is a congenital defect. Surgery can be done, but the success rate is so low that it's not recommended. It's also very expensive.

Miu will suffer the rest of his life with difficulty breathing and swallowing from this condition. He will need special care and more attention than I am able to give to him. He is likely to suffer from other ailments related to the disease, including pneumonia.

That being said, I will have to give him up.

I have already contacted the breeder from where he came. He agreed to take the little guy in to care for him for a while. He seems to think that the kitten was misdiagnosed (which I hope he's right). After some time, he'll have his vet take a look. From there, we'll decide if he's healthy enough for me to take him back, or if I'll be taking home a new kitten.

I will be quite honest with you - after only a month and a half of having this little guy around, and crying over just that short a time of having him, I just don't know if I can do this again. Because the breeder said the worst case scenario will only grant me another kitten, I'm afraid that I've no choice but to take a new kitten into my home.

The problem is... I don't want another one... and I am fearful that because it is coming from the same breeder, this condition will also come too.

Is it too much to ask for a furry little friend?

Jonathan and Jenni
Engagement session
April 2, 2009
____________

After yesterday's hilariously fun engagement session with Jonathan and Jenni in downtown Chicago, I have become even more excited about working with them on their wedding day this September. This couple is so much fun!!! They have this playful chemistry together than really makes the picture-taking process so enjoyable and unique.

The three of us trekked around a really good chunk of the downtown area, and really got a wonderful variety of photos. We were super lucky to have such a beautiful day for the shoot, but I managed to get a little bit of sunburn from it ... oops!!!

Jonathan and Jenni, thank you SO much for having me come out to work with you yesterday. I cannot wait until your wedding day!
